Today's walk (Keswick rambling club): Grasmere - Silver How - Blea Rigg - Tarn Crag

Grasmere village on a rainy morning

Helm Crag with its top in cloud

somewhere between Silver How and Blea Rigg

a slight clearance from Blea Rigg summit ..

.. a bit further on reveals itself as Lingmoor Fell

from the other side of the ridge Helm Crag and Easedale Tarn ..

.. and Codale Tarn with Tarn Crag beyond

Harrison Stickle, Pavey Ark and Stickle Tarn

heading off the ridge towards Codale Tarn and Tarn Crag

Belles Knott and Easedale Tarn with Helm Crag faintly beyond

Codale Tarn looking surprisingly blue

climbing above Codale Tarn on the slopes of Tarn Crag

the Langdale Pikes and a bit of Codale Tarn from Tarn Crag summit

Easedale Tarn from the ridge of Tarn Crag

looking down the ridge to Helm Crag and the Grasmere valley

looking back up the ridge to Tarn Crag summit

a member of Langdale Mountain Rescue Team comes up the ridge with a stretcher ..

.. and another arrives in the rain to assist one of our party who had slipped on the wet grass and broken an ankle

Many Thanks to the team for their prompt arrival and all their help..

.. they slid the stretcher down into Far Easedale in gathering dusk followed by a long hard carry
