Today's walk (Keswick rambling club): Stonethwaite - Eagle Crag - Sergeant's Crag - Stonethwaite

climbing up above Greenup Gill - our descent path beyond the stream

higher up looking down on the confluence of Langstrath Beck and Greenup Gill

the 'crux' gully on the north face of Eagle Crag partly blocked with ice ..

.. and requiring an awkward exit

looking down from the viewpoint onto Greenup Gill

the dizzy view down into Langstrath ..

.. and another icy step this time with Stonethwaite Beck below

Sergeant's Crag from Eagle Crag

a glimpse of Borrowdale in improving weather with Eagle Crag on the right

another rock step near the top of Sergeant's Crag

testing the ice on a small tarn with Sergeant's Crag on the right

looking back up the Greenup valley to Lining Crag

still icy crossing the side streams!

coming down the Greenup valley

lower down the day's one minute of sunshine

looking at our route up Eagle Crag from the same point

back at Stonethwaite
